Unplug any power and video source from the camera first. Look at the back of the camera and there should be a reset button. Hold down the button, with the power still disconnected. While still holding the button down, plug power into the camera and continue to hold the button for 30 seconds.

When I wound it in mid-Dec it was fine, there's a smooth buttery feel to the winding action. Last week when I wound it I was surprised to get a grinding, gritty feel from the crown!
